Senator Heffernan would like to draw your attention to the new national supply partnership which took effect in January 2010 between Bakers Delight and the Chia Company.
Chia is a tiny seed grown in the Kimberley region (WA) and is the richest plant based source of Omega 3, dietary fibre, protein and antioxidants. It is essential to include plant oils in a healthy diet and this is one of the reasons why Bakers Delight has decided to form this partnership with the Chia Company.
The Chia Company’s vision for the future is to ‘positively contribute to the health and wellbeing of the local and global community by making the best quality chia available at fair value.’
In conjunction with the Chia Company and Bakers Delight, Senator Heffernan is hosting a function in Parliament House in March 2010 to promote healthy living and to raise awareness about how chia can help maintain healthy cholesterol levels.
